Eating disorder recovery is possible
Alice Richardson full-time Peer Support Worker in NEDRC. Alice is the only full-time Peer Support Worker in Eating Disorders in Ireland. Alice is an Expert by Experience, completed a level 8 in Peer Support Working, DCU, a previous English Literature buff in Trinity and completed multiple Continuous Professional Development courses. Alice has been with us since her student placement in 2022, onto full-time employment with us and now helps train and supervise our other student Peer Support Workers on placement with us. Alice’s insights into mental health experiences and in particular eating disorder, not only is gratefully received by our clients and family members but also the whole team. Alice is very positive for change in eating disorders, is proactive in putting her words into action, a true advocate and leader. Alice is a breath of fresh air, for her constructive, positive attitude, quick wit, caring nature and is a testament to the fact that RECOVERY REALLY IS POSSIBLE.

NEDRC is delighted to have Dr Andreana Pulcrano Chartered Clinical Psychologist PSI & Family Therapist FTAI presents for the 3rd year consecutively on World Eating Disorders Awareness Week share her experience, skills and findings of working with clients who are Autistic / neurodivergent and have an eating disorder.
In keeping with this year’s theme “stories seldom told” Andreana who has much experience & knowledge, will be sharing stories on tailoring eating disorder treatment for people who are neurodivergent as we do at NEDRC.

ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)- What is it? What it’s not and what can we do?
Michael Metondi, BSc, MSc Coru Registered Dietitian works in NEDRC for over two years, Michael’s knowledge and experience along with his kind, caring approach makes him very popular with clients (adolescents, adults) and their parents. His realistic goals made along with clients help build the trust which can normally be a challenge in eating disorders treatment, especially from the Dietetics side! Join Michael in learning more to understand ARFID and some helpful approaches.
